Bedfordshire Police Cadets is currently for young people aged 13 to Our Cadets aim to promote an understanding of police amongst young people, to support local policing through volunteering and to assist in community and crime prevention events.

The Cadets follow a national framework and also have the opportunity to hear from guest speakers from different departments within Bedfordshire Police. Being a Cadet is also a great way to inspire young people to participate positively in their communities.

Cadets help with crime prevention initiatives, community engagement activities, test purchasing operations, official ceremonies and much more. Applications for our cadet programme will re- open in January for our next intake in September Keeping our young people safe Our policy.

The VPC gave me some purpose and believed in me as a person. My self-esteem grew and I stopped getting into trouble. I am now 17 and am looking forward to becoming a Volunteer Team Leader for the VPC when I'm 18 and inspiring cadets who may have a similar background to me.
